According to iSuppli Corporation, the power-saving is the point to attract people of the solid-state disk (SSD). The use of these Flash-based solution may also bring other environmental benefits: a substantial reduction in the use of laptop batteries.

A typical notebook use a 6-cell battery. However, if using SSD, a four-cell battery will be able to last the same life as a 6-cell one.

It’s expected that in 2013 the sales quantity of laptop will reach 250 million units. So it will be equivalent to save 80 million batteries if these computers using the SSD and 4-cell battery.

Further expected that from 2011 to 2013 sales quantity of laptop will reach 693 million units, with using SSD these notebooks can save one third of the battery, so that these laptops will be able to save 231 million battery in three years.
